The inauguration of the synagogue took place on June 6, 1955, and its location is in proximity to the southwest corner of the Sfax city walls. Presently, the facility remains unused due to the absence of a Jewish population in Sfax. The "Roman limes" represents the frontier line of the Roman Empire at its peak in the 2nd century AD. Extending over 5,000 km from the Atlantic coast north of Great Britain, across Europe to the Black Sea, and from there to the Red Sea and North Africa, before returning to the Atlantic coast. These are remnants of built walls, ditches, forts, fortresses, watchtowers, and civilian dwellings. Some elements of the line have been discovered during excavations, others reconstructed, and some destroyed.

The two sections of the limes in Germany cover a distance of 550 km from northwest Germany to the Danube in the southeast of the country. Hadrian's Wall (United Kingdom), 118 km long, was built under the orders of Emperor Hadrian in 122 AD, at the northern end of the borders of the Roman province of Britannia. It is a remarkable example of organizing a military zone that illustrates the defensive techniques and geopolitical strategies of ancient Rome. Antonine Wall, a 60 km long fortification located in Scotland, was started under Emperor Antoninus Pius in 142 AD as a defense against "barbarians" from the North. It represents the northwestmost section of the "Roman limes".

Ommok Tangou, also known as Ommok Tannou, is an ancient Tunisian tradition of invoking rain. This practice, inherited from Berber and Punic traditions, identifies Ommek Tangou with Tanit, the Carthaginian goddess of fertility and growth. Represented as a doll, often a stick adorned with pieces of fabric, she is carried by children through the streets during droughts.

In Tunisia, the ritual of celebrating "Ommek Tangou" involves creating a wooden cross-like structure dressed in women's clothing, which children then carry around. They wander through the alleys and roads, singing rhymes to request rain.

Situated at the precipice of Cape Bon, overlooking the sea, the Punic Town of Kerkuane stands as a remarkable testament to Phoenician-Punic urban design. Unlike its counterparts in Carthage, Tyre, or Byblos, Kerkuane has remained untouched by subsequent Roman urbanization; its port, fortifications, residential quarters, commercial establishments, artisan workshops, thoroughfares, plazas, temples, and necropolis persist unchanged since the 3rd century BC.

The discovery of Kerkuane occurred in 1952, revealing traces dating back to the 6th century BC, with extant ruins from the late 4th to the first half of the 3rd century BC, showcasing an intricate urban layout.

The UNESCO recognition of Kerkouane's universal value, leading to its inclusion in the World Heritage List in 1985, underscores its significance. Notably, the Archaeological Atlas of Tunisia, published in Paris in 1893, made note of a "significant ancient settlement perched upon a cliff" adjacent to the small Arab township of Kerkouane, yet formal investigation of the site did not commence until 1952.

Established by the Greeks of Sicily towards the end of the 4th century BC, and promptly seized by Carthage, the stronghold of Kélibia has always been an integral, if not dominant, part of the urban landscape. Positioned atop a rocky promontory overlooking the sea on the northeastern side of Cape Bon, its strategic significance and continuous utilization to the present day are readily apparent. The history of the ancient city, known as Aspis to the Greeks and translated by the Romans as Clipea, meaning shield, is intricately intertwined with that of its citadel, rightfully regarded as the emblem of the city, with its location dictating the selection of the site and its urban evolution.

Within its oldest sections, the citadel harbors a Punic nucleus. Yet, through excavations and topographic surveys, scholars have succeeded in reconstructing the layouts of its initial foundations, dating back to the 4th-3rd century BC, revealing a more expansive and fortified pentagonal structure ideally suited to the promontory's topography.

Following its destruction upon the fall of Carthage in 146 BC, the structure was partially restored in the 6th century by the Byzantines, who erected a fortress within the heart of the Borj.

Tabarka, renowned for its natural resources and commercial prospects, attracted the interests of numerous settlers throughout its history. Initially fortified as a castle mound, the promontory saw subsequent establishment of a presidio by the Spaniards for coral fishing, effectively outmaneuvering Ottoman corsairs.
